James C. Walker

James C. Walker is a member of the Estate Planning and Tax and Business Departments at Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin. In his more than 30 years of practice, Jim has handled a wide variety of estate planning and estate administration matters, business transactions and real estate law issues. Jim has developed extensive experience in representing both small and medium size businesses from successful start-up through conclusion of their business matters. As a result of Jim's representation of both buyers and sellers of local real estate, he has a reputation within the real estate community as a successful deal-makerable to handle real estate transactions of any magnitude and successfully concluding the transaction for the benefit of his clients. Prior to joining the firm, Jim served as Counsel with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Revenue Personal Income Tax Division. A past Board member of the Bucks County Bar Association and a past Chairman of its Young Lawyers Section and Orphans' Court Section, Jim is a co-author of the Bucks County Orphans' Court Manual. He is also an active member of the Bucks County Estate Planning Council. Jim is involved in a variety of civic, religious and charitable organizations. He is active in his parish of St. Joseph's in Limeport, Pennsylvania; is a member of the Knights of Columbus, Cardinal Stritch Council, Quakertown, Pennsylvania, and is a former officer of both that council and the Board of Directors of the Homes Association of the Knights of Columbus, Cardinal Stritch Council, Quakertown, Pennsylvania. Jim currently serves as a Board Member of the Children's Developmental Program, Quakertown, Pennsylvania, a non-profit, early-intervention and pre-school facility, and is Vice President of Love the Children, an adoption agency in Quakertown, Pennsylvania.  Jim is a graduate of LaSalle College (B.A. 1970) and the Dickinson School of Law (J.D. 1976).

Recent Representative Cases:

state Administration and Planning
*  Created thousands of estate plans for clients throughout Bucks, Montgomery, Lehigh and Northampton Counties. He has represented personal representatives of both large and small estates to assist in the smooth and prompt conclusion of those estate matters. In addition, Jim has also represented numerous Trustees, Agents and other fiduciaries in the discharge of their duties.

Business Transactions
*  Represented a major regional business operation in the spin-off of several of its divisions.
*  Acted in negotiations and as a legal advisor to a pharmaceutical packaging company in its acquisition and ultimate sale of a process chemistry division.

Real Estate Transactions
*  Assisted a major local concrete producer in a six million dollar transaction to reacquire real estate that had been previously conveyed for tax and business planning purposes.
*  Acted as counsel to acquire real estate in a three way transaction involving the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
