Experience:
Gerald Hamburg is one of the founders of Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin. Practicing for over 35 years, he concentrates his work in the areas of health law, high technology, business law and litigation.

Jerry is committed to achieving the best results possible for his clients and to assisting them in resolving their legal disputes in the way that best meets their business or personal objectives.

Areas of Concentration:
Health Law
Jerry currently represents a number of health-care clients in today's rapidly changing environment. He restructured a health company's operations to solve the Stark I and Stark II regulatory prohibitions, permitting a large sports and occupational-medicine entity to joint venture and provide management services to such hospitals as Mt. Sinai in Philadelphia, Delaware Valley Memorial Hospital in Bucks County, and Moss Rehabilitation Center of Albert Einstein Medical Center.

High Technology
Jerry counsels and represents a number of high-technology companies in the structure and expansion of their businesses. He has built a notable reputation in the area of Internet, biotechnology and telecommunication law. He is currently involved in obtaining venture capital for more than a dozen Internet companies structuring them for IPO's in the next year. He helped found two bio-tech companies which deal with cutting-edge diagnostic patented technology for infections and genetic diseases, including colo-rectal cancer. He procured the necessary financing and structured those companies to ensure their rapid advancement.

He has represented entities in the audio text business and has been involved in contract negotiations with service bureaus throughout the country. Additionally, he initiated and created a joint venture with AEL, Inc., a NYSE company, and procured the cable TV franchises in Lansdale, North Wales, Upper Dublin, Hatboro, Horsham and other surrounding municipalities for the joint venture.

Business Law
Jerry is well versed in all aspects of business law, including: mergers and acquisitions, structuring and financing start-up companies, procuring of venture capital, syndication, as well as taking companies public.

As part of his representation of a local bank, Jerry uncovered an interstate fraud ring and exposed the scheme where individuals purchased old Pennsylvania truck titles from junk yards and converted them into current New Jersey titles, thereby duping the bank into financing large sums of money based upon the bank's belief that it had encumbrances on new trucks.

Professional and Civic Activities:
Jerry began his career as an associate at the firm of Freeman, Landy & Lorry; he later joined the firm of Irwin S. Rubin, where he became partner. In 1969 he founded what is presently Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin.

He is a member of the Bar Associations of Montgomery County, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the American Bar Association. He was also a member of the Judiciary Committee, co-founder of Montgomery County Trial Lawyers' Association, Past President of Montgomery County Trial Lawyers' Association, and a past member of the Chairman's Committee of the U.S. Senatorial Business Advisory Board.
