Real Estate

Whether our clients' interests lie in the purchase/sale of real estate, acquisition/construction financing, zoning and land use, environmental concerns, leases, easements, sub-division and land development, tax assessments, eminent domain, quiet title actions, or the formation and management of condominium/homeowners' associations, Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin can bring to bear the skill, knowledge and talent of some of the most respected and high-powered real estate attorneys in Pennsylvania.

Our real estate department is led by Ed Mullin, who is considered one of the most preeminent real estate attorneys throughout Pennsylvania. As but one example of his stature, Ed was appointed by the Joint State Government Commission of Pennsylvania's General Assembly to chair a committee comprised of judges, law professors and lawyers for purposes of reviewing Pennsylvania's real estate laws and rewriting those in need of updating and eliminating those no longer needed. In fact, many of the real estate attorneys at Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin lecture on new legal developments in real estate to fellow attorneys at the Pennsylvania Real Estate Institute's annual conference in Philadelphia.

The real estate attorneys at Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin are well known and well respected among numerous boards of supervisors, zoning hearing boards, and their solicitors throughout the suburban counties and townships of Central and Southeastern Pennsylvania. It is therefore with honor and humility that Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin can call as client both the individual seeking a zoning variance and the national builder wishing to subdivide a 100 acre parcel. We know how important results are to our clients. We also know how important it is to have attorneys who listen, understand, and are creative in effectively representing our clients.

At HRMM&L, it's about the result.

Recent Representative Cases

  • Successfully represented Mother Theresa, pro bono, when a local municipality attempted to prevent her from opening a soup kitchen and shelter for abused women and children, by developing a unique theory of the case.
  • Rallied public support for a recreational farm use, when the municipality attempted to prevent such a use, by getting the public involved to put pressure on the elected officials.
  • Filed a substantive challenge to a municipality's ordinance on behalf of a builder seeking to build high density housing units on the grounds that the township did not have its fair share of townhouses. The challenge mounted was so strong that the municipality settled without any hearings, giving our client a very favorable result.
  • Handled scores of commercial and residential acquisitions.
  • Successfully represented developers in zoning matters in most of the municipalities of Montgomery and Bucks Counties.
