The Business Advisory Group hosted a Wage Payment and Employee Classification Tutorial on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the offices of Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin.
Attendees explored what’s new and the nuances of federal and state wage and hour law. They learned how the proposed Department of Labor regulations will affect the classification of employees. They discussed the federal government’s focus on independent contractor classification, and how individual business owners and managers can be personally liable for unpaid wages.
The Business Advisory Group reviewed a variety of current and proposed laws and regulations that govern how business must pay their employees, and the consequences of improper payment.
This seminar was presented by Ethan R. O’Shea, Esq. Ethan focuses his practice on employment law and has counseled corporate and individual clients on a variety of employment matters. He also appears regularly before the PA Human Relations Commission, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and has tried cases in the federal and state courts throughout Pennsylvania.
