Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin is pleased to announce that Joseph J. McGrory, Jr. has been elected chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Municipal Law Section for a two-year term.  The Pennsylvania Bar Association Municipal Law Section is charged with the task of commenting on pending legislation or encouraging the introduction of legislation that would affect municipal government.  Members of the Section come from counties throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  As chair, Mr. McGrory plans to have the Section become active with not only opposing bad legislation, but also becoming more proactive by actually proposing legislation that would be helpful to municipalities.  Every citizen in the Commonwealth is affected in some manner by local government and it is imperative that attorneys undertake the social responsibility of making sure the residents of the Commonwealth have appropriate protection from their local governments, while at the same time, limiting unfunded mandates that drive up the cost of government.
