Lisa A. Shearman Passes the Gavel to Seth D. Wilson as New Montgomery Bar Association President
Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin proudly recognizes the leadership and achievements of principal Lisa Shearman as she concludes her term as President of the Montgomery Bar Association (MBA) and celebrates the new President. On Friday, January 10, 2025, Shearman ceremoniously passed the gavel to Seth D. Wilson, the incoming MBA President, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Association.
Reflecting on her successor, Shearman shared, “Seth Wilson is a dedicated and thoughtful leader. I am confident he will guide the Montgomery Bar Association with the same passion and commitment that have been the hallmark of its leadership. I look forward to 2025 and all of the initiatives and events Seth has planned.”
During her term, Shearman urged legal professionals to embrace a more profound commitment to pro bono work. “We have a responsibility to pay it forward and use our skills, gifts, time, and talents to help others,” Shearman shared in her installment address. Throughout her presidency, Shearman worked tirelessly to advance initiatives that strengthen the MBA’s service, education, and advocacy mission. Her leadership was characterized by a responsibility to promote the value of legal professionals’ contributions beyond the courtroom, fostering connections between the legal community and the public it serves.
Wilson expressed gratitude for Shearman’s exceptional leadership and acknowledged her dedication to the organization in his first address as President. He also outlined his vision for the MBA, which includes enhancing the Lawyer Referral Service and introducing HOPS, a new program designed to support the community. Wilson emphasized his commitment to advancing the Association’s mission by strengthening access to justice, fostering community outreach, and building stronger connections between the public and the judiciary.
Again, we congratulate Seth D. Wilson as he takes on this prestigious role and we’re excited to see the growth and impact he will have on the MBA and the broader legal community.
