John Han is a seasoned criminal defense attorney with over three decades of legal experience, including extensive service as a federal prosecutor and Navy JAG officer. His practice focuses on defending individuals and businesses in complex criminal and civil matters, including white-collar crime, RICO litigation, and federal investigations.

John began his legal career as an officer in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps, serving in trial and advisory roles both domestically and abroad. He later served as a Military Trial Judge and retired in 2024 at the rank of Captain. His military service included presiding over high-profile felony courts-martial, earning him a reputation for fairness and legal acumen.

Following his active-duty service, John spent six years as an Assistant District Attorney in the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted cases involving public corruption, fraud, and violent crime. In 2006, he joined the U.S. Department of Justice’s Organized Crime and Gang Section in Washington, D.C., where he led federal prosecutions of transnational gangs, Mafia organizations, and corporate RICO defendants. His work earned him multiple commendations, including three DOJ Special Achievement Awards and the ATF National Honor Award.

John is actively involved in the legal community, serving on the Montgomery Bar Association’s Board of Directors, the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s House of Delegates, and as a member of the Hearing Committee for the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. He is a lifetime member of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association’s Judicial Council and has been recognized nationally for his advocacy and public service.

In addition to his legal work, John serves on the boards of several local nonprofit organizations, including the Philip Jaisohn Memorial Foundation, the Montgomery County Community College Foundation, Wissahickon Trails, and the Ambler YMCA. He is also a member of American Legion Post 769.

John earned his B.A. in Economics with Class Honors from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law. He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New York and is fluent in Korean and Italian.
