Steve Hann Speaks at PMAA’s 2025 Board Member Training Sessions

Steve Hann was a featured speaker at the Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association’s (PMAA) annual Board Member Training Sessions held throughout March and early April 2025. The multi-day, multi-location training series was designed to educate and support both newly appointed and long-standing Municipal Authority Board Members across the Commonwealth.

The comprehensive agenda covered a range of key topics, including:

  • Financial Responsibilities

  • Insurance Trends in 2025

  • Human Resources

  • The Municipality Authorities Act

  • Ethics

  • Maintaining Order in Public Meetings & The Sunshine Act

During the sessions, Steve provided valuable updates and insights on The Municipal Authorities Act, helping board members better understand their roles and responsibilities. He addressed the most frequently asked questions PMAA solicitors receive each year and led a focused discussion on the most commonly misunderstood sections of the Act. His sessions offered a practical and engaging opportunity for board members to strengthen their understanding of legal and ethical standards, financial oversight, and effective governance.

A recognized authority in environmental and municipal law, Hann chairs Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin’s Environmental Law Department and serves as East Region Solicitor for PMAA. In this role, he regularly advises municipal authorities across Pennsylvania on issues related to water, wastewater, stormwater, and solid waste management.
